See study area mapFigure 6. The drifters released during these studies highlight the difference in the exchange between spring and neap tides. Even though these drifter releases were on a moderately weak neap (A) and a moderately strong spring (B) tide, the exchange on spring tide traverses the length of the island and the tidal excursions from spring to neap differ by 1.5 miles.
