Lisa Lucas ( is an ecohydrodynamic modeler who began at the USGS in 1997 . Lisa has a BS degree in civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame (1989), and MS (1992) and Ph.D (1997) degrees in civil engineering from Stanford University. Lisa uses numerical models of coupled hydrodynamics and biology in conjunction with field data to understand the physical-biological relationships governing variability in phytoplankton dynamics, water quality, and habitat function of the San Francisco Bay-Delta.
